Leaving, on a Jetplane…

I’m leaving tomorrow (Saturday) morning — EARLY! — for a week-long trip to New York, and will be gone from July 21-28. Our choir is doing a short tour, and we’re so excited! I was born and raised in NY (Long Island), and I’m excited to show it off to my husband, who’s never been. Plus, we’re going to be singing in some neat places!

I’m sorry I haven’t been blogging as much here lately, but things have been crazy.

1) My computer crashed earlier in the week. My husband spent about 3 days working to restore my data, which (thankfully!) Windows was able to recover (I’d had some back-ups, but not extremely recent), even though my hard drive crashed. Hubby built a hard drive last year, so he moved it out the central computer I use and hooked it up. So, that was an adventure!

2) I’ve preparing for the time I’ll be gone by writing enough daily posts at my new celebrity birthday blog at b5media. I write an average of 2-3 posts daily over there, so I needed to write enough for every day of the week that I’ll be gone — which means a TON of posts!

When I return I’ll be writing a few celebrity birthday posts each day, to work at keeping a few days ahead, but I won’t need to churn out SO many and therefore neglect this blog! This has been a huge project-challenge for me before we leave. When things settle down a bit (do they ever?) I’ll work at being a better blogger (again), blogging at least 2-3 times a week here, in addition to my blogging work!

I’m also excited about taking part in my fellow b5er Problogger Darren Rowse’s “7 Days to Rediscovering Your Blogging Groove“!

Have you lost your blogging groove?

If you have – you’re not alone. Last week I chatted with a lot of bloggers who are either feeling disillusioned, uninspired, uncreative or just plain bored with their blogs. The result was that their blogs were suffering.

Perhaps it is the time of year (many in the northern hemisphere have all the distractions of summer while those of us in the south are feeling the winter blues) or perhaps it’s something else – but I’m sensing that many bloggers could need a little bit of a boost right now.

So this week I’d like to invite you to participate with me in a little project called the ‘Rediscover Your Blogging Groove‘ project. Read more…

I’ll probably try it on each of my blogs — it looks to be a fun project!

Money. Burn out. Money? Burn out?

I recently applied and was accepted for a gig that I thought could bring in some extra money. It involved basic web content writing, which I used to do quite a bit of but I got burnt out on quickly. It's been a few years since then, and I thought "What could it hurt?" It would ...
