Julia's Bio

I love words. And punctuation. And tea, but that's another story.

In fact, I love words and punctuation so much that I work as a professional writer, editor, and proofreader. I am the owner of Temlyn Writing & Editing Services, where I provide writing & editing services for various clients; I am also the Editor-in-Chief of Writers Remember and All About Musicals

The highlight of my career thus far?I was recently interviewed on NPR’s (National Public Radio) The Bryant Park Project as a guest grammarian.

I maintain my own blogs, Mrs. Write Right, Word Therapist (aka Writer-Editor) and All About Musicals, in addition to blogging professionally for b5media at Hollywood Birthday, a celebrity birthday blog.

I love working online, but it is nice to see one's own name in print once in a while, isn't it? Therefore, I'm also a staff writer for Sugar Land Magazine (a local glossy) and Sugar Land Life (a local guide for newcomers).

In addition to writing and editing, I enjoy building and moderating online communities.

Some of my previous community building involved working as a Senior Community Moderator for several Wetpaint sites based on books from Sasquatch Publishing, including Nancy Pearl's Book Lust, which grew from a single member to more than 1300 under my leadership, and continues to thrive. I also worked as an Online Community Builder/Moderator for WEGO Health, a consumer health network.

I also enjoy being a forum moderator at one of the greatest forums for writers, Absolute Write.

I have been writing and editing since I could read, as my family and friends will attest– long before I received my B.A. in English. My topics of specialty include marriage, relationships, musical theatre, entertainment, mental health, women’s health, and health & beauty. I have been published both online and in print, and enjoy writing articles, essays, and poetry– I even have a few books in the works! My personal essay “A Walk in the Clouds” is featured in Stories of Strength, a compilation of writings by the members of Absolute Write, the proceeds of which benefit disaster victims.

I reside with my husband in Houston, Texas, and can be contacted at julia@temlynwriting.com.
